We will miss our dear Pilgrim who passed over the rainbow bridge February 2, 2019 at the age of 23. In late November, Pilgrim was fostered by a lovely family who lovingly cared for him while his body was still recovering from being malnourished. He spent his last 2 months happily grazing on a beautiful piece of property with his young mare friend, Venus, before his body could not overcome a terrible colic. You brought us great joy while you were with us. Rest in peace, Pilgrim.
Pilgrim was a 15.2hh, TB/QH, very calm and sweet. He was good for the vet, easy for the farrier and trailered well. He used to do Jr. posse, 4 h, etc. and was good on trails and water. He was a very loyal friend and got along well with both mares and geldings and in a herd.
11/23/18 update: In less than 3 months, Pilgrim had gained his weight back and is healthy and eating normally with hay and one supplement feeding a day. He is such a sweet gentleman. We have never seen any aggression or bad behavior from him. He is a volunteer favorite. Let's find him a new loving home!
9/3/18: Pilgrim needs our help! His owner boarded him at a facility while she was abroad. Clearly, they didn’t take care of him. The owner is unable to care for him so we brought him in. He is receiving special TLC to bring his weight up. His cribbing habit was never addressed so his upper front teeth are worn down. Even when we get weight back on him, he will still need a feeding of supplements each day in addition to hay.
