Toby
Toby (register name is "Stubben") came to to SERRA's ranch August 2017. For personal reasons, the previous owners needed to find Toby a new home. Before coming to SERRA, he had been boarded for many months in a stall with no turn out. Understandably, he gained a great deal of weight and came to us quite overweight. We assessed his nutritional needs and set out on the mission of diet and exercise to trim off close to 100 lbs.
He immediately became nicknamed "Toby Bear" (as in Teddy Bear) and was a favorite among the herd and the volunteers. So calm and loving. Easy to train, easy to ride. Because of his calm demeanor and comfort with humans around him and on him, he was a perfect candidate for Danna Ayers, the manager of Kidder Creek Camp in Greenview, CA. There, Toby is a natural horsemanship training horse for children's camps during the summer. He will spend his winters on the beautiful ranch of a Parelli Instructor enjoying the winter months and continuing his training. We couldn't be happier for Toby, Danna and the children who will spend their days training and playing with this friendly guy. |
